Newborn Photography Safety
During every maternity & newborn session, the comfort and safety of you and your baby are paramount. As a trained, accredited professional I am skilled and practised in the specialised field of newborn and baby photography. So you can relax and know that both you and your baby are always in safe hands.
While baby is under 2 weeks old they can be photographed in all their curly sleepy new baby wonder. They usually sleep soundly after a feed, and any little milk pimple blemishes or rashes that tend to appear in babies a few weeks after birth, are nowhere to be seen. But if your baby’s past the fleeting newborn stage, of course your precious little one can be captured in beautiful photos at any age.

We’re parents too, and so whatever you are experiencing, whether it be sleepless nights or the joy of catching first smiles, we have been there before and we are excited to share your heartfelt stories while we document them for you and your baby.
You’ll experience a calm sense of safety and confidence that comes from being photographed by trained professionals … we will never ever try to ‘get the shot’ if it means compromising the well-being or comfort of you or your baby. SQP’s style is timeless and relaxed. You’ll revisit the emotion of your little one’s arrival into your life each time you look at your images. Sorry but babies in flowerpots are not a part of our style. Baby in all their newborn gorgeousness is our focus. We want you to look at your images in the years and decades to come, and be reminded of the wondrous and fleeting beauty of this precious time in life. Marvel at their tiny fingers and toes. How they fit in your hands. Perfect just as they are.
While we like to spoil you and have you relax and enjoy your session, you can also count on us to guide you so there are no surprises, feeling awkward or under pressure in front of the lens. You can rest assured that you and your baby are in good hands. We know how intimidating being photographed can seem, and we have the skills and know-how to give you the most beautiful photographs you can imagine. Trust me when I say that you’re going to love your session. Every one of our new mums - and dad’s and grandma’s - just seem to breathe a little deeper as they relax in our home, with tea or coffee and soft music, confident that their baby is in great hands. Your wellbeing and that of your baby is always our highest priority.
