When To Book Your Session.
For maternity and newborn photography sessions, let’s secure your session date as soon as you have an estimated due date. Book your maternity session for when you will be at your 34 week date, and your newborn photography session for when baby is 10-14 days old. We can pencil it in - flexibility comes with the territory as a newborn photographer! That’s why I will only ever book a few sessions per week incase arrival dates change.

You are encouraged to reserve your maternity session soon after you have established your estimated due date.
A session time between 32 and 36 weeks is optimum. This way you are showing enough of a full baby belly, but not quite ready to deliver!
Your preferred date and session will be secured for you with a deposit of the session fee. Don’t worry we are always flexible and can change your newborn photography session date depending on baby’s arrival as we go along. Maternity photoshoot is complimentary with every newborn booking.
Upon booking you will be sent a comprehensive 'Welcome Package' with everything you need to know about what to expect from your session, and how to prepare, so you can feel completely at ease and ready to enjoy.
As the session date draws closer, I will be in touch to re-confirm our date and time, and the finer design points of how you will be photographed. You are of course welcome to get in touch at any time prior to your session if you have any questions, concerns, or amazingly creative session ideas! I paint custom backdrops and hand dye organic baby wraps, and create fresh floral pieces. So I’d love to know what colours and style you love.
On location and beach sessions are best photographed in the late afternoon light, and these sessions are ideal if there are little siblings-to-be. Studio sessions are usually held mid morning or early afternoon.
Photographing at approximately 34 weeks also ensures that you will have a bit more mobility for poses, and will be in full bloom, excitedly awaiting the arrival of your baby, and be ready to be pampered!
Newborns are best photographed in the first 10-14 days when they are sleepiest and able to be captured in all their curly posed beauty. But please know your baby can be captured in beautiful photos at any age. We will pencil in your newborn photoshoot session day based on your estimated due date, and can adjust it. We’ll keep in touch and re-confirm the session date once your baby arrives.
